How you know it's love; and other randomness

I had to end our 'days of no contact' with boyfriend (I mean ex-boyfriend, friend, roommate?) today because I could not go another night with just one pillow. I had to pick one up from home.

You know what causes happiness? Making surprise plans that can make someone else happy. I went shopping at my favorite craft store and dollar store today.

I got a ton of cheapy cheapy scrapbook paper, two little glass jars (dishes, candle holders?) to be of later use, a cheap photo box, Thomas the Train stickers to use for nephew's scrapbook, and a couple little things for a certain boy who has a birthday in a little more than a week. I feel I've never done anything special for him so I wanted to do a few little things. I love doing it. It's a great thing to be able to focus on right now.

Today is my grandfather's 73rd birthday. My birthday is next and I turn 23. Then my mother turns 43. I think it's cool that we have a pattern with our ages. Mom is 20 years older than me, and my grandfather is 30 years older than her.

He talks about how he's still young. I still get sad because I know he won't be around forever. And I'll never feel like I've thanked him enough for everything he's done for me. He takes care of me better than if I was his own child. He's always been the father figure in my life.

I was once told that there is a simple way to know when you really love someone. If they are the last thing you think about before you fall asleep, and the first thing you think about when you wake up, unless you go to bed hungry.

True story.

It's been so love since I've really been in love.

You do the most wonderful thing for your nephew by loving him as much as you do!
