8 months. 36 weeks. I guess that means if I don't do another update asap, the baby might be born before then. Not that that would be a bad thing.
Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly. Baby may be packing on the pounds but because of the major toothache I've had for the past week and a half, I hadn't gained any weight in the two weeks since my last doctor's appointment. Probably not ideal at this point, but the doctor didn't say much. The tooth is gone now and I hope to get back to regular pigging out.
Movement: She's been moving a LOT the past few days. I'm not sure why, but it's kind of cool. It's basically the kind of moving I expected her to do long ago, but she hasn't been much of a mover. No keeping me up at night. No kicking my ribs - nothing. Well, the no kicking in the ribs is probably because she's still head-up. So like BabyCenter says above, on my appointment on the 23rd the doctor said in two weeks if she hasn't turned, we will talk about schedule a section or turning her.
Sleep: She's not interfering with my sleep at all. The toothache was for awhile but I'm starting to sleep better already.
Naming: We finally decided on a name, I think it was around the 14th of this month, right before we took our maternity photos on the 15th. I haven't announced it on here (or to friends!) yet, but I'm almost 100% sure that it's going to be her name.
I finally purchased her baby book on the 24th, something I wanted to get done in case she made an early appearance. I still love looking through mine so I couldn't imagine not having one by the time she got here. I actually bought one, had second thoughts, and exchanged it for another. I started filling it out already so this one is here to stay.
I finally got all my maternity photos, so here they are (some of them, anyway.) I haven't taken any of my own this month, but I'd still like to.
