"I don't want kids" - A Guest Post

Today I have another guest post this time brought to you by Caro. She is a fellow Canadian and you can take a peek at her blog Thecarozone. This is her short and sweet take on having children.

-----------------------------------------------

I dont want kids

When people ask me when I'll have kids, I say that I don't want any.People use to tell me, You'll see when you turn 30 the clock will start ticking.Well I will be 33 soon, and still no ticking.

I believe that some people are meant to have kids and others not.All my life while growing up, I never saw a future for me with kids. And it's ok this way.

Of course I dont want to turn into the old cat lady, but I am willing to take that chance.

Over a year and a half ago I was asked to be the godmother of a triplet.
I am so in love with that kid, that it reassured me that it was ok for me not to have kids and that I was perfectly fine with being a godmother/aunt.

Of course every time I meet a new someone, it is a subject I have to put on the table as most men our age either have or want kids.

I believe I am happy this way and I think that this is hat matters the most.No matter what choice you make in life, just make sure that it is the one that makes you happy.

Venassa I hope your little miracle makes your heart want to exploded so much you are happy.

Guest Post from 'The Charming Mad Chatter'

Today's guest post is from Madeline from The Charming Mad Chatter. She is such a sweetie and I'm really happy to have her posting for me. She is posting for me to give me a little break from blogging so my blog isn't neglected while I spend tons of time with my baby girl. A huge thanks to her for posting for me. Keeping with that theme, here is her post explaining her take on having children.

 -----------------------------------

Hi I'm Madeline and I blog over at "The Charming Mad Chatter".

I'm guest posting for Venassa because , well, she's having a BABY! (Ok so at the time this posts, she might have already had the baby, but she's still having a baby. Semantics.) I remember volunteering to guest post, and then I forgot about guest posting. As I sit here and right this, I'm feeling kinda crappy because, well, I forgot. I forgot about the guest post I promised a hormonal pregnant woman, and I'm probably lucky she's not chucking baby bottles at my head. But as of now, my head is lump free, so I should make sure she gets this post before that changes.

I've decided that it's only fitting for me to write a guest post about babies, since a baby is the reason I'm guest posting! I've almost always wanted children (there was a brief moment while dealing with a screaming baby that I wasn't so sure). At one time I wanted twelve children, and now I'm pretty firm at the number four. Hubs is pretty firm at four also, and that probably has to do with the fact that I talked him into four. He originally wanted two or three.

I'm someone who likes to have control in my life. I like the ability to say yes , no, or even eenie-minie-mo. I just want choices. I want to be the author of my life because I've had far too many co authors thus far. For some odd reason, I thought that fate and destiny would go along with me. They haven't. We've been trying for awhile to have a baby, and thus far... no luck. Now, this could be positive in the fact that I don't have to deal with nausea, stretchmarks, contactions just yet. But to tell you the truth, I really don't care about those things. What I care about and what I want, is a baby.

You have some pretty funny discussions with your significant other once you decide to have kids, or have a baby on the way. You definitely figure out more about each other. And names? Oh me, oh my! Is that a crazy discussion or what? I just want to have this on actual written record that my husband, my wonderful , quirky husband has the absolute worst taste in names. Let's run down two of the worst ones:

Jengo. No I'm not joking. What is the kid
going to cartwheel its way into this world?
Vetoooo. So not happening.

Declan. I know people name their child this
and I don't want to offend, but there are too
many ways to make fun of this name.

Those are just the two worst ones.
For all I know the next name he'll suggest is going to be Lego.
Or Eggo.
Or Rock.

But at least we agree on the important things right? And it's not that a name isn't important, but a name is something you can change if need be later on. I know that I might never have children, because well, let's face it. Infertility of all kinds is becoming more and more common these days. And that's scary.

But I have to have hope.

I need hope.

I need to cling to the possibility that I might have a mini me one day , no matter how scary that might be for the rest of the world. There is one thing that will never change in all of this, and that's the fact that I love my husband. Nothing will change that. And nothing will change the fact that he loves me. Even if this maybe baby thing is making me a little more crazy than normal. I know that the slightly crazed phase is normal when you are trying to have a baby. But I'm pretty sure I've reached the full blown loco-cuckoo phase. Because less than a week ago, I told God that I'd be willing to have triplets if that's what it took. And I'm pretty sure you have to be crazy to willingly pick having triplets.

Guest Blogger: The Diva Bee

Guest Blogger: The Diva Bee

When Venassa originally posted about having guest bloggers for the weekend, I immediately jumped for it! As soon as I click "post comment" to enable me to write a comment informing her I would do so, I immediately thought... 'wait, what in the world would I, the Diva Bee, have to say?' After recieving an e-mail from V telling me she was going to visit her mother, and that we both have momma-lovin' in common... it all makes sense. So here we are, me...the Diva Bee.. guest posting for Venassa. Hopefully I don't bore you with my randomness, and slight precaution... I tend to sometimes get off track.

So what's the true meaning of a Momma's Girl?

Look in the dictionary and I assure you, you'll see my picture. I don't know why I have always clingled to my mother the way I have, but for some reason or another I do. When I was off at college, three hours away from my mommy, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary to me anyways to talk to her at least 10 times a day, at least 3 of those conversations being an hour or longer. Is it to anyones suprise that I came back home after two years just to be closer to her? (of course, I want to be close to my dad too but come on! this is a momma's girl talkin'...)

Maybe living at home with your parents at the age of 21 isn't ideal to most, but to me? HA! Couldn't get much better. You see, 'Momma's Girl' comes with it's perks. There's the constant being babied... that's right my mom still does my laundry. (Okay, let's be honest for a sec: I've tried to get her to let me do it but she refuses... she has a laundry obsession like most do with shopping.) Every morning starts about the same, we wake-up... always at the same time, weird, I know... I run around the house opening all the blinds while she does her morning routine (ya know... age defying moisturizer and all that jazz) and while she's pouring our cups of coffee I head outside and get the newspaper. Drum roll, here's where things get funny. We meet up outside to drink our coffee, coffee that I have drank since I was probably 7-8 years old because I wanted to be just like her; read our newspapers, that's right we get two newspapers one for her one for me (HA!); and smoke our cigarettes. Later, when coffee time is complete, we head to the fridge to get our Diet Pepsi's. Why Diet you ask? My whole entire life I've drank 'diet'...because my mom did....because I wanted to be just like her...that's why. Seriously, I might have a problem when it comes to how much I like my mom... okay yeah, I most definately do. Everytime my dad calls her and she says "oh Haley and I are just out and about," my dad knows something bad is gonna happen. (ps. haley=the diva bee...me) He knows us as "Partners in Crime" and on those specific days, he should probably freeze his banking account. Heh...heh... Here's where I let you in on a little secret, but foremost I have to share with you something that's not a secret at all: My mom is OBSESSED with buying dishes. The Secret: since my mom refuses to lie to my dad, when she buys dishes she stashes them in the attic, lets a month roll by, and then brings them out. When good ol' Pops says "hey, when did you get these?" her response, "...oh I've had em!" Yes, I partner with her in this crime...who couldn't love such a BRILLIANT mom!

Enough about how much we're too much a like, it's time to tell you why I love her so much. My mom has always been my supportive cheerleader, her shoulder is always there catching my tears as they fall, and when crying from laughing so hard she's always passing me a tissue and helping me catch my breath. She knows me better than I could ever know myself, she finishes my sentences, dots my I's and crosses my T's. Her opinions and spoken wisdom always makes me see the world with a vision a little more clearer. When my outfit looks bad, or seems out-of-the-occassion she'll be the first to tell me to change and try again. She puts me in line when I step an inch out, and she'll straight up tell me when I'm being selfish and unappreciative. She makes me want to be the best I can be, and for that I love her more than anything. She is my inspiration and my day-to-day blessing. She's not only my mother, she's sincerely my best friend.

Now with a slow stream of tears flowing down my cheek, I think this is a good point for me to wrap up. (sorry, I tend to get a little emotional when thinking about how much my mom truly means to be and how much I am really blessed by being her daughter) I hope you enjoyed this little blog post, and I want to thank Venassa for letting me be a part of her blog. :)
