Family Dinner

Friday was my brother and sister's birthday. Yeah, they're twins.

We had plans for a family dinner at mother's, which got thrown off when I got my first bunch of contractions and mother came up here in case I was really in labor. But then she got up here and they weren't really happening anymore. I helped her shop for a dress to wear to a wedding, to get me walking around and maybe keep the contractions coming. No luck. They went away, and she went home.

We still went up to her place (me, brother and his girlfriend) to have dinner at Pizza Delight with mother, sister and nephew. It was nice to get everyone together, but insanely loud. My brother, sister and nephew don't have an indoor voice. My sister yells out things in the restaurant about have some kind of male hormones and that's why she has so much body hair. And other random semi-embarrassing things that you don't want the family of 5 next to us to be listening to.

But it was still a good time. Brother talked too much about lifting weights. Sister stuck her hands in everyone's food. Nephew ate a lemon. Nothing out of the ordinary.

And the restaurant had the worst lighting ever, so all the photos are in black and white.

What's it like when your family gets together? Is yours loud and embarrassing like mine or do you sit and have regular conversation at regular noise levels?

Happy birthday...

To these two crazy clowns.

My brother and sister. The twins. The terrors.

They're 20 today.

So happy birthday to them! And congrats to my mother on giving birth 20 years ago. I only wish I could keep the tradition alive.

Because it is, after all, my due date.

Yeah, I'm 40 weeks pregnant. There's still a baby in my belly. If you told me a couple of weeks ago that I'd still be pregnant today, I would not have believed it. At least now the countdown is on. I have a doctor's appointment Wednesday. If she hasn't made an appearance by then, they will force her out. Maybe not the day of the appointment, but soon after.

It's been weeks and weeks of swollen feet. Of being crazy tired. Of feeling a whole never level of hunger. Of not laying on my belly. Of not being able to roll over at night without sitting up to do it. Weeks and weeks of waiting.

40 weeks.

Fun Facts
- On my due date the scale reads 141.6 lbs. Almost 38lbs gained
- I finished the baby's room the day before
- There are 23 hours left to this day and I feel no changes yet

I don't think my baby's going to come on time. What do you think?
