Lazy Chocolate Caramel Cookies
1 pkg. (18 1/4oz.) devil's food cake mix
1/4 cup water
1 egg
3 Tbsp. canola or vegetable oil
18-24 Rolo candies
Recipe found here, but their cookies look better than mine.
Find interesting sounding recipe inside cake box and pause to rip the box apart. (Chocolate-mint swirl cake? Yes please!)
Combine cake mix, water, egg, and oil in a large bowl.
Pause to take a photo of your progress because your hand is sore.
If you're lazy like me, and also have transparent bowls, check the bottom to make sure you don't have any unmixed cake powder hanging out in the corners.
Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and press a rolo candy in the middle and reshape into a ball. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes or until tops are cracked. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from sheet.
Suggested song to listen to as you bake these cookies: Krazy by Lil Jon and Pitbull. Perfect if you feel like bouncing around the kitchen as you bake, like I did.
Mmm mmm cookies. They were good, but not the greatest. I'd like to try them again, but this time I'd use mini Rolos and mix them into the batter like chocolate chips.
