Me, in 10 Years

In 10 years I will be 33 years old. Ten years sounds like plenty of time, but with how fast time goes by, I know it'll be here before I know it.

Whenever I'm asked where I see myself in 5 years, or 10 years, I never really know how to respond. My life is so open right now that I could be anywhere, or at least it used to be.

Where would I like to be in 10 years? Ideally, I'd be working a job that I enjoy, but by that point I'd be making enough money to at least live comfortably. I can see myself still working two jobs, although I'd love for my second job to be photography. If all goes well, it will be someday.

I'd love to have my own place by then. Maybe not go as far as to buy a house, but to at least have a nice, big, spacious apartment, decorated exactly how I want it.

In 10 years, I should have a 9 year old child. That is the hardest part to imagine. In which case, I just hope to have a happy, healthy girl child.

I don't know if I can see myself still living where I do now. Five years from now? Yes, I could see myself possibly still living here. Ten years from now, I could be anywhere. I just hope to be settled by the time my child starts school. I don't want him or her to have to change schools a bunch of times like I did.

I'd love to say I'd be married and living happily ever after at this point as well.

But really, the future's what you make it, isn't it?

Here's to hoping for an amazing decade!

I feel excited for "in 10 years." I will be 45 (yes, I am still excited). My son will be 13. I'm just thinking that life will be just that much more secure, knowing myself and my family. With my son's growing independence, I will probably be pursuing more of my own interests and my husband and I will be connecting more as well.
