High School Me

It is pouring rain. Thankfully, my mood is the complete opposite.

I spent most of my afternoon today copying cds, and sorting through clothes.

With there only being 3 months left until I have to move, I want do my own spring cleaning. And when I do, I  go all out, especially this time around.

Any clothes I haven't worn, books I'll never read again, games I never play, movies I never watch, and cds I never listen to will go. I'm hoping to put any money from these sales towards moving, and my Ontario trip.
While copying my cds from my high school days, I got to thinking about myself. The cds were Good Charlotte's first three cds, and Simple Plan's first two. Now, if you're not familiar with their music, here's a little peek into some of my favorite songs back when I was 15-17 years old.

"I'm just a kid and life is a nightmare
I'm just a kid, I know that it's not fair
Nobody cares, cause I'm alone and the world is
Having more fun than me"
I'm Just a Kid - Simple Plan

"I'm young and hopeless
I'm lost and I know this
I'm going nowhere fast that's what they say
I'm troublesome, I've fallen
I'm angry at my father
It's me against this world and I don't care, I don't care"
The Young and the Hopeless - Good Charlotte

Yes, those were some of my most favorite songs back then. I could still probably listen to them and enjoy them. But they're just so angry at the world, every one is against me, life sucks type of songs. That was me. I hid it so well a lot of the time. I was such an angry, unhappy teenager.

Life wasn't that bad. My friend didn't do much to make me feel liked or wanted. Those memories are what make me see my teen years as some of the worst. Compared to my life now, they were the worst. But maybe had I wallowed less in my unhappiness (and listened to happier music) I might have better memories.

But as pessimistic as I can be these days, I am glad to be happier, and feel so much better about my life and my future as I did back then. High school me, I do not miss you very much.

But at least you are less scary than elementary school me:

Sounds like you did spring cleaning both inside and out! High School was a rough time for me too. Glad those days are over!

My God I used to love Simple Plan so much. I even saw them in concert.
