Unpredictable Babies

Babies are crazy. Wild. So freaking unpredictable.

Moms - you know. Non-moms? Maybe not so much.

I have a 7-week old daughter that will barely sleep during the day. Babies of this age are generally still supposed to sleep quite a bit. Not this girl. But miss unpredictable usually sleeps like a champ at night. 2-7 hours at a time, usually. Last night we had a 6-hour stretch, followed by another almost 3-hour stretch. Then? We ate some more and she's been asleep for about 40 minutes now. Little miss is napping after sleeping 9 hours last night.

While she usually sleeps great for me, my mom had her for the night Saturday night and the girl woke up every two hours all night. I've learned to expect absolutely nothing and just try to go with the flow. She does what she wants and that's that.

A note for the baby book: The little miss discovered thumb sucking on November 13th. She sometimes has trouble getting it in, but it's adorable watching her try. Although it's not a habit I want her to pick up.

I don't have anything of much interest to say today, as you can see, but I am guest posting over at Create with Christina.

Christina is a real sweetie and that really shines through on her blog. I love her cute post on the responsibilities of being a wife. If you're the crafty type, you may love her post on the gorgeous burlap wreath she made. If nothing else, take a look at these beautiful family photos.

Stop by her blog and say hi.

If you're interested in becoming a partner for December, the info is here. Best of all, it's free!

Babies sure like to mix things up and never seem to do what they are 'supposed' to. :)

Though the thumb sucking is AWESOME! She figured out the perfect way to soothe herself, and I'll bet her sleep improves once she masters it. Babies who learn to soothe themselves are better sleepers overall and that continues right into adulthood.

You can always break the thumb sucking habit when she's older, just let the dentist know when you go in for her first check up around age 1!

Just found your blog and I'm loving it so far! Can't get enough of those baby pictures!!
