Once upon a time I was 15 years old. Okay, I guess that would be obvious. Let me start over.
Once upon a time, 15 year old me went to get her haircut by a new hairdresser.
I searched and searched the internet at school, printing off photos of celebrities that had the hairstyle I wanted. I had long hair for most of high school - it always fell quite a bit past my shoulders. My hairstyle was just a straight across cut - nothing fancy, barely even what you would call a style. I looked something like this:
I'm cute, right? But the hairstyle is pretty 'meh'. This is after the 'bad hair incident of age 15'. I dreamed of long layers on the inside part of my hair, framing my face. A la Jennifer Aniston:
Now I don't have any photos of me post bad haircut, so you'll have to use your imagination. Picture Jennifer Aniston's hairstyle on me, but picture those layers on the outside of my hair. The pieces closest to my face were full length. The shortest layer, the most visible, was the length of the bottom of my ears. I couldn't even hide this hairstyle in a ponytail until it grew out. Picture me walking home from the hairdresser almost in tears at the atrocity that was my hair. I cringe now just at the thought.
I wore my ear-length layer pinned up for months until it grew enough to use the ponytail method, then finally got those horrible layers chopped off. Back to one-length it was.
Now that you've heard my hair horror story, here is the 'after' picture that I promised yesterday.
This is what I looked like before (ew) and after my haircut yesterday:
I can't tell you how amazing it is to be rid of my
Anymore hair horror stories anyone would like to share?

Your hair is awesome!
Cute! Cute! Cute!
I once went and got my hair chopped off. I didn't want it as short as the stylist cut it {sounds much like your haircut at 15!} but I tried to make the best of it. That was until I saw my husband and he said "Wow! You look like a soccor mom. Now all you need is a minivan."
Yes, I cried. No, he has not lived it down! ;-)
The last time I made a big change to my hair I came out looking like Tony Danza. Here's the picture: http://www.bigteethandclouds.com/2009/12/hair-is-boss.html
Note: only one picture in that post is the actual Tony Danza. The other is me!
