Big Brother is over and fall shows are soon starting

Boob Tube Babble

I haven't really talked much about TV on here. Consider yourselves lucky. I've been obsessed with Big Brother.

And now it's over. I'm pretty sad about it, but couldn't be happier about how it ended.

I've always been the type who tends to root for the underdog (I despise that saying though), so despite how incredibly immature and annoying they could be, I was a Brendon and Rachel fan last year, and again this year. It was nice that Brendon didn't go crazy this year and bully people like he did last year when Rachel was put out. Rachel's crying in the bushes and immature way of dealing with Daniele made up for it though.

But through it all, I was still rooting for them. Well, no, I'll be honest. At one point (I don't remember what exactly it was they did) I was just hoping Jeff and Jordan would take the newbies' advice and put them up. They were even getting on my nerves.

But Rachel won, and even though she pulled a lot of crazy, bitchy moves throughout the game, I think she totally deserved it.

I was surprised that Jeff won the money for being America's favorite player. I figured it would be someone like Adam. Not that I can blame people for voting for him. I mean, he did show up in my dreams a few nights ago. Nothing dirty, I promise.

So my summer of tv is over. I'm sure I could get back into my old favorites like How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, and Big Bang Theory, but having missed so much of all of their previous seasons (from working night shifts) I'd probably be lost.

I can't believe it's the last ever season of Desperate Housewives though. Although they are kind of running out bad things that could possibly happen to these people. Hopefully there'll be some big shockers in this season.

It might be time to get into some new shows, since I'll be spending the next year at home anyway.

What shows are you excited about this fall?

What I'm Loving...

I'm taking a break from my regular Sunday guilty pleasure 'Getting to Know You'. Instead, these are some things I've been loving lately.

This is the new place to go to gain new twitter followers. You can link up and get all the information at Mommy Loves Stilettos.

Get Hatched - A Disney Family website, created with Terri Hatcher. It's no secret that I'm a Desperate Housewives fan so I was definitely interested to in taking a look at this website when I saw it in the Cosmo I was reading this morning. It's definite woman website, filled with articles about just about everything. I love the cartooniness around the main page, I'm just sadened at the lack of pictures in the articles. I like to see what I'm reading about, especially when it comes to the decorating articles. I like this article on how to love your birthday.

Nivea Happy Time anti-perspirant. Strange to discuss deoderant, but the name is Happy Time, and the smell makes me happy. I just love it. I now want the lotion, the body wash, the everything.

Big Brother. Is anyone watching this? I didn't watch it much the past couple of years because of work, but this year the DVR has been a major life saver, as well as YouTube. I've heard people call it boring this year, but as usual I'm going for the underdog aka gorgeous Brendan and "no one comes between me and my man" Rachel. I love watching them pull through each week.

I'm still loving Bloons 4, the best game in the world. I wrote about it here. It's the most addicting game I've ever played.

And last but not least, my supper! Cheesy Pasta and Ragu. I will teach you to make this awesomeness, in vague form.

  • Cook as much pasta as desired

  • Use as much Ragu (original is what I use, but the choice is your) as you need

  • Cook up some ground beef and add it to the sauce

  • Sprinkle the sauce and beef mixture with parmesan cheese and mix

  • Add approx. a table spoon of Velveeta cheese and stir until it's blended in

  • Serve the pasta, sprinkle with grated cheese (I used old cheddar), then spoon the sauce on top
It's so yummy.

What are you loving on this beautiful Sunday?

Best Game & Video

As I write this, it is simply 46 minutes since July 19th has ended. It was a pretty great day, and for no big, exciting reason. Just a couple of small, good reasons. July 20th has been pretty decent as well.

  • At work I moved a family from a drive-up (kind of old), into the main hotel (renovated in the past couple of months). First he said he wouldn't forget it. When he came back to drop off the keys from his former room, he handed me a $20 bill. I can count the amount of times I've gotten tips working at the front desk: $2 for bringing up a corkscrew to a room, $10 to split with a co-worker one morning when checking someone out, $5 for bringing a bucket of ice outside to someone, and $20 for switching someone's room. Since the money is much needed, I'm quite happy about it.

  • Mozza sticks. They need no explanation.

  • Big Brother is ready and waiting for me on the DVR!

  • Saturday night I watched Degrassi Takes Manhattan. I love Degrassi: The Next Generation, as I mentioned in yesterday's Getting To Know You. Of course I loved the movie, as unrealistic (and creepy - eg part about Declan and his sister Fiona) it was. I DVRed the new season of Degrassi, and just got home to see that there were 3 new episodes tonight for me to watch : )

  • And see if this doesn't make you smile:

  • And last, but maybe my favorite: The Best Game in the World.

It is called Bloons Tower Defense 4. Basically, you buy random monkeys, and cannons and other means of shooting to pop 'Bloons' Before they get to the end of the track. It starts off simple but soon you've got all kinds of 'bloons' coming out, and each color is worse than the next. Red is normal. Every other color has at least one more 'bloon' inside, some 20, and they speed out. Each time you bust one, you get more money to upgrade and buy more weapons.

I spent all night at work playing it (honestly, from at least 7 until midnight, with some job interruptions) and I still want to play again now that I'm home. Don't play it unless you have the time to get addicted.

But if you do, let me know what you think : )
