Chloe's first Thanksgiving

Me and Chloe are doing good. We had a few days where Chloe cried a lot all of a sudden, but whether her problem went away on her own or it was her new bottles, she's feeling great again. She eats, sleeps and isn't crying the entire rest of the time.

Lately she likes to play tricks on me. The kind of tricks where she falls asleep (usually while eating), and will stay asleep for about 10 minutes in my arms but when I put her to bed she's awake within a couple of minutes. Sometimes she'll do this 5 times in a row. I figured out Saturday night that if I let her fall asleep next to me in bed, I can let her lay until she's in a deep sleep then she stays asleep when I put her in her bed. Much better.

She just had her first holiday - Thanksgiving. We had turkey dinner at my mother's on Saturday night. My brother drove her and I down in my car. Sunday we picked up my grandfather and had turkey dinner with him and the rest of the family at my aunt and uncle's. It's always a good time when we go there. She turned two weeks old on Sunday.

We came home on Monday and she met our cousin (and my friend) Melanie for the first time.

Life's been crazy busy, but we're getting by. I would be living off of coffee if I didn't have to nap so much to survive.

I am thankful for...

  • My family and friends (everyone says that :p)
  • All the help I've gotten from my mother since my little miss has come along
  • All the visits from friends and family
  • Everyone who's been carrying stuff around for me because I'm not allowed to do any lifting
  • 90210 on Netflix keeping me sane while I take care of baby
  • How I Met Your Mother season 6 for helping me get to sleep each night
  • All the food in my fridge
  • Finding all my Halloween decorations while I was at my grandfather's
  • Seeing my grandfather hold and talk to Chloe this weekend
  • Two turkey dinners with my family
  • Nap time
  • And most of all: my pretty little Chloe, who likes to snooze while being burped

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
