Until I was a mom I didn't know what it was like to look at someone and start to cry simply because you love them so much.
But it's hard. She falls asleep when you want to feed her, but stays awake until 3am when you're exhausted at 11. She'll fall asleep in your arms, but wake up 5 minutes after putting her in her bed. She's unpredictable.
I try my hardest to soak up every moment. I try not to want to rush time. I know I'll miss her at this age as she gets older. Soon she won't fall asleep in my arms or laying on my chest. Soon she'll sleep even less.
Have I mentioned that I love country music? Because country music sings about life. It's not all drinking, trucks, and dogs. This song made me cry before Chloe was even born.
It Won't Be Like This For Long by Darius Rucker. (Click to listen on YouTube). Here are some of the lyrics:
He'd been up all night
Layin’ there in bed listenin’
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says
It gonna be OK
It won’t be like this for long
One day we'll look back laughin’
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby just hold on
‘Cause it won't be like this for long
Some day soon she'll be a teenager
And at times he'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the aisle
And he'll raise her veil
But right now she's up and cryin’
And the truth is that he don't mind
As he kisses her good night
And she says her prayers
He lays down there beside her
‘Til her eyes are finally closed
And just watchin’ her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows
It won’t be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah, this phase is gonna fly by
So, he's tryin’ to hold on
‘Cause it won’t be like this for long

Oh what a sweetie! haha. It does go fast. Faster than you can ever know. My oldest baby is 14. How did that happen??
Babies always make me so emotional now that I'm pregnant. I told my husband how I think I'm just going to cry for a week straight after having her out of pure happiness. It must be overwhelming, but such a blessing.
I love that song, and it is so fitting. You know that Trace Adkins song "You're Gonna Miss This"? This post reminded me of that too.
Awww....I don't know a baby that really liked their baths. Poor kiddo. She will enjoy them eventually.
